Growing weed is one of the most profitable solo businesses in MafiaKill — and one of the most satisfying to manage. You start from a single seed, water your plants through four growth stages, and end with a harvest you can sell locally or smuggle out at a premium. Unlike a one-off crime, a grow operation pays out day after day.
The system looks simple from the outside: plant, water, wait, harvest. But behind that surface sit real numbers — seed costs that scale with your grow, a plant cap tied to your grow skill, a perfect watering window, and a yield formula that rewards quality buds. This guide breaks every one of them down.
Seeds and Setting Up
Your grow operation starts with a single seed, and the price is designed to grow with you. The first seed costs 500, and every plant you already own adds another 500 to the price of the next one. Seed 1 costs 500, seed 2 costs 1,000, seed 3 costs 1,500 and so on — expansion is possible, but it is never free.
How many plants you can keep at once depends entirely on your grow skill. The base cap is 6 plants, and every 10 points of grow skill adds one more slot: at skill 0 you grow 6, at skill 50 you grow 11, and at skill 100 the cap reaches 16 plants. Raising your grow skill is the single best way to scale the whole operation.
| Grow Skill | Max Plants |
|---|---|
| 0 | 6 |
| 10 | 7 |
| 50 | 11 |
| 80 | 14 |
| 100 | 16 |
- Seed 1 costs 500, and each existing plant raises the next seed's price by 500.
- The plant cap is 6 + (grow skill ÷ 10), rounded down — never more than 16.
- Expansion is a cash sink early on; grow skill multiplies how fast you fill the room.
Pro Tips
- Start with a single plant until you understand the watering rhythm — cheap mistakes beat expensive ones.
- Every point of grow skill is permanent; invest in it before you buy a big seed run.
The Four Growth Stages
Every plant in your grow room moves through four stages as it matures. Each stage is a band of progress, measured from 0% to 100% of the plant's life. Knowing which stage a plant is in tells you how close you are to harvest — and how much care it still needs.
Seedling runs from 0% to 20%, Vegetative from 20% to 50%, Flowering from 50% to 80%, and the plant is Ready once it passes 80%. A Ready plant is your ticket to harvest: leave it too long and you are just holding space that a new seed could be using.
- Seedling (0–20%) — the fragile start; keep water stable and do not neglect it.
- Vegetative (20–50%) — the plant bulks up and is more forgiving.
- Flowering (50–80%) — the buds form; this is where quality is decided.
- Ready (80–100%) — harvest window open; pull the crop and sell.
Pro Tips
- Check your plants before you commit to any crime — a neglected seedling sets the whole run back.
- Plan so most of your plants enter the Ready window together; one harvest beats many dribbles.
Watering and Plant Health
Water is the heartbeat of your grow room. Every plant's water level decays over time — roughly 1.5% per second, so it will not wait for you. If you leave the game running, a full tank drains away and your plants start taking damage.
The sweet spot is the 'perfect window' between 40% and 80% water. Keep a plant inside that window and it grows healthy; let it drop below 40% and it dries out, push it above 80% and you overwater it. Either extreme damages plant health, and health is one of the multipliers in your final yield.
| Water Level | Effect |
|---|---|
| Below 40% | Underwatered — plant health falls over time |
| 40% – 80% | Perfect window — healthy, damage-free growth |
| Above 80% | Overwatered — plant health falls over time |
Pro Tips
- The perfect window (40–80%) is not a once-a-day check — water decays fast, so visit your room regularly.
- Two plants out of the window can silently gut your whole harvest's health multiplier.
Harvesting and Selling
When a plant is Ready, you harvest it. The yield is calculated from three things: bud quality, plant health and your grow skill. The formula is floor(20 × (0.5 + quality ÷ 100) × (1 + health ÷ 200) × (1 + grow skill ÷ 50)) — so a perfect quality plant at full health with a maxed grow skill can more than triple the base yield of 20.
You sell the harvest one of two ways: to the local market for roughly minCash × 4, or through the black market for roughly minCash × 6, where minCash is the dynamic economy baseline. Smuggling the crop pays a third more, but the activity carries a jail risk of around 25% — make sure the reward is worth the gamble.
Every harvest also grows your skill, with the amount decided by bud quality: quality 90+ gives +1.5 grow skill, 70+ gives +1.0, 50+ gives +0.5, and anything below gives +0.2. That is how a simple grow room slowly becomes a 16-plant empire.
- Quality 90 or higher — +1.5 grow skill per harvest.
- Quality 70–89 — +1.0 grow skill per harvest.
- Quality 50–69 — +0.5 grow skill per harvest.
- Quality below 50 — +0.2 grow skill per harvest.
Pro Tips
- The black market pays ~6× minCash versus ~4× locally — smuggle when you can afford the risk.
- Chase quality before volume: a high-quality, high-health plant out-yields a neglected one even with a higher plant cap.
- Your grow skill multiplies every future harvest, so the +1.5 from great buds is an investment, not just a reward.
Pro Tips
- 1.Keep plants in the 40–80% water window and you remove most of the health damage that craters yields.
- 2.Scale your plant count with grow skill — buying seeds ahead of your cap wastes money you could have banked.
- 3.Sell high-quality buds on the black market and save the local market for low-tier, low-risk runs.
- 4.The ~25% risk level is real: bank your profits so one busted run doesn't empty your wallet.
- 5.Reinvest early harvests into grow skill; the yield formula rewards it far more than a second seed.
